Radisson Blu Resort & Spa - Cesme, Izmir, Turkey

The Annual Congress of the Gerhard Küntscher Society "Osteosynthese International 2013" was held in Cesme, Izmir, Turkey. The congress was supported by TSOT (Turkish Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology) and the annual Intramedullary Nailing Course was included in the Congress.

There were a total of 107 oral presentations and 35 poster presentations. The total number of participants was 333, 30 of them being international. There were 16 workshops and 13 booths. 13 key note lectures and 2 special lectures of well known lecturers, like Peter Giannoudis, Pol Rommens, David Seligson, Peter Thaller, Hans-Werner Stedtfeld, Peter Reynders, Grigoris Mitsionis, Wilhelm Friedl and others contributed to most scholarly sessions on intramedullary nailing.

Two outstanding scientific studies were awarded in oral and poster presentations. TSOT president Onder Aydingoz gave a special lecture on "Decade of Action for Road Safety". The congress abstracts were printed on the special supplement of Injury.
