Annual Congress

General Information

Osteosynthese International 2026

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of Osteosynthese International 2026 in Sofia.

Welcoming more than 230 participants and experts from around the world, the congress brought our international community together for a robust three-day scientific program featuring 111 oral presentations, including keynote and instructional lectures. It was an exceptional opportunity to exchange knowledge, share clinical experience, discuss challenging cases, and explore new directions in trauma care.

We sincerely thank all presenters and keynote speakers for the outstanding quality of their contributions and their generosity in sharing their expertise. Their lectures and discussions enriched the knowledge of colleagues at every stage of their careers. We are particularly grateful for their commitment to educating and inspiring young surgeons, helping them deepen their understanding of trauma and develop the judgment and skills that will shape their future practice.

Our special thanks go to the Board of the Küntscher Society for their exceptional support, scientific contributions, and spirit of collaboration. Their involvement was instrumental in shaping the congress and upholding its high scientific standards.

We also express our profound appreciation to the hand and reconstructive surgeons whose participation gave the scientific program such breadth and depth. Their contributions reinforced a central message of this meeting: comprehensive extremity trauma care must look beyond the fracture alone. By bringing bone, soft-tissue, nerve, and functional reconstruction into a shared discussion, they helped advance a holistic approach that places the patient’s recovery and quality of life at its centre.

We are especially grateful to the AO Research Institute Davos, and to Professors Boyko Gueorguiev and R. Geoff Richards, for their support and inspiring scientific contributions. By bringing research and innovations from Davos to Sofia, they offered us a compelling glimpse into the future of fracture care and the possibilities that lie ahead.

To every participant, moderator, partner, and colleague who contributed to the meeting: thank you for your engagement, thoughtful questions, and willingness to share your experience. The value of this congress will continue through the collaborations it has encouraged, the knowledge we take back to our teams, and the care we provide to our patients.

We look forward to continuing this exchange at next year’s Küntscher Congress in Izmir, Turkey, on 22–25 April 2027, held in conjunction with the Turkish–Greek Joint Orthopaedics and Traumatology Meeting. We warmly encourage colleagues to join us for another opportunity to strengthen international friendships, share scientific advances, and further our common commitment to excellence in trauma care.

As Osteosynthese International 2026 draws to a close, we leave Sofia with renewed enthusiasm for learning, collaboration, and progress—and look forward to meeting again in Izmir.

With sincere gratitude,
The Organizing Committee around Congress President Prof. Dr. Dian Enchev
